Ireland Tour 2011

Recommended Posts

I believe Woodlawn House is closed until the 10th February, but I have managed to confirm my booking by email (info@woodlawnhousekillarney.com). Caseys Hotel is currently having some sort of renovation work done but I did manage to get my booking confirmed with them ok. Actons Hotel has been booked with no problems as well.

Tash and I are planning on going for a meal this weekend in Swansea to confirm a suitable location for meeting up, and the opportunity for a meal, prior to check in for the ferry.

Will release exact details of where we plan to liaise and when a bit closer to the date but the idea is to meet early, around the corner from the port so that everyone can have a coffee / food etc prior to boarding. Anyone coming to this year's AGM at Stoneleigh will have a chance to discuss plans, otherwise will be contacted by Jennie or myself by phone or email.

Updated list;

1. Jon Miller (host)
2. Richard and Jennie Wilson
3. Martin and Gill Edwards
4. Chris Jones and Tash Hill
5. Conway and Joan
6. Dave & Shaz
7. Geoff and Yvonne
8. Mike and Carol Stripe
9. Russell Markham and son
10. John and Debbie

Any more?

Looks like a good crowd, I'd better warn the locals! Oh and you'll need to draw staws to decide which car goes in front to clear the sheep :D

I had intended to come down for the first weekend unfortunately it turns out that the weekend you arrive is also the weekend of my son's Holy Communion (something I will not be allowed to miss!) So whilst I will try to get down to see you all at some point it will be during the week and I'll need to fit it around work.

Anyway I'll figure that out nearer the time.

Cheers
Jon

Here is a link to the road map which has been suggested by Jennie for our trip: Official Road Atlas Ireland 2010. I have ordered mine.

Also, you should all have received a notification from FastNet Ferry Lines that our outward ferry departure has been moved to an earlier time of 18:30. Check-in time is 2.5 hours prior to sailing. Full details of a meeting place and time will be issued closer to our departure date.

Folks,

Unfortunately it's looking unlikely that I will make it down to meet you, as I mentioned previously I can't come down at the weekend and it's not looking likely that I'll be able to take time out from work to come down during the week, which is a shame since it's almost on my door step. Would one of you PM me a mobile number in case I manage to head down one evening and I can find out where you are.

Enjoy it, though I hope the weather improves a bit for you.

Cheers
Jon
