Black Mountains Autumn Drive Out - Friday 6 - Sunday 8 October 2017

Recommended Posts

Went from here yesterday to Shrewsbury on the A488 what a road. Shame was I was in the company car rather than the Exige. Some great roads between Shrewsbury and here.

We will be meeting you all at Clun on Saturday morning. There's a public car park for Clun Castle which is a short walk from a few good looking cafe's, The Maltings Cafe and the Bridge Coffee Shop. We're planing to be there for 10am, as we'll be needing breakfast. Hopefully the weather will clear up for the afternoon's drive over the A4069.

Depending on what time we arrive in Swansea, we might head to the Grape & Olive for a drink/coffee. This place has probably one of the best views over the Swansea marina and has good parking.

Well another fantastic weekend under our belts and what a cracker it was too. Thank you Jennie and Richard for all your hard work putting the Autumn run together. As always it was full of great roads and lots of laughs. Thumbs up too to David who used his regional knowledge to take us on an epic detour around the Brecons/Black Mountains. It really has been a great road trip to round off the year.

Lisa and I are looking for to seeing you all again at either the NEC Classic or LDC Christmas lunch

Bravo LDC ;)

What a superb weekend. Many thanks to Jennie and Richard for a great itinerary and organising this foray into our neck of the woods and bringing all our friends to see us in our natural environment. Sorry about the mud and cow poo you all acquired on our little detour we just hope the extra car cleaning was worth it. We also hope Lisa remembers what to bring on her next cross border excursion into Wild Wales ( big secret between Lisa, Jennie and us ). Thanks to everyone for coming and sharing your time with us in our little corner of the big island just please don't tell everyone what roads we explored after the Red Lion experience, we like to keep them a local secret.

      Saturday 24 June 2017
The annual Lotus Drivers Club Fish and Chip run to the coast was started 5 years ago in 2012 with the first run to Hunstanton. The event has grown in popularity each year since.
This year on Saturday 24th June we will be visiting the largest seaside resort in Wales, Llandudno. Llandudno’s immaculate seafront, gracefully framed by two headlands, is a seaside classic. It’s a proper resort, with a pier, Punch and Judy and Donkey Man and even Alice in Wonderland.
Privileged display parking along the promenade has been organised for members and will be available from 10am - 6pm. Members will also have the opportunity to drive along Marine Drive, 5 miles of masterly Victorian road building with stunning panoramic views across the sea to Anglesey and Snowdonia. The toll road is £3.00 per car, including parking at the summit of The Great Orme. There will also be an opportunity for those staying for the weekend to discover some of the greatest driving roads North Wales has to offer, such as the Evo Triangle and Capel Curig.
For more information please contact driving@lotusdriversclub.org.uk
