Elan + 2s

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

I have just joined and this is my first communication.

I need some help please: I have a 1969 Elan +2S which will probably fail this years MOT because the wiper switch keeps failing. I have rang several dealers trying to purchase a replacement but nobody has one. Can anyone help me please with a part or suggest another marque component we can use or an alternative. My garage is saying that they would need to take the dah board out and that could lead to more complications and huge costs !!

Please help !!!

Many thanks,

Steve

also...the shouldn't need to take the dash out.......just a case of assuming the Lotus position......

legs over the back of the seat with head in the pedal box........

you should then see the switch and be able to get it out........

let me know if youre struggling as I might have a spare switch but the washer plunger doesn't work......(the same applies to my car at the moment so I added a little electric washer pump under the dash....)

Hi Steve, welcome to the club/forum.

Have you tried Paul Matty's?

Andy.

I have just been informed that mine is the later +2 model with an electric wiper switch so we will try classic-s tomorrow !!!

does that make it a 3 position rocker switch?.....

Ive never had a later +2.....mine have all been early

Its not normaly the rocker switch but the wiper motor struggling to reach to park sector of the switch inside of the motor.

If you clip the wipers up (as if your washing your windscreen) then try it, does it work on both stages and park ?

Matt
