Serpentine Charity Run
Sunday 4th July 2010

Open to all types of classic cars, sports cars and classic motorbikes the event will start at 9:30am from The Buxton Community School and involve a route though the Peak District National Park and some of the UK's most beautiful scenery. Entrants will be given their route maps at the registration point, where they can also get refreshments (free tea and coffee, bacon sandwiches at a small cost etc), and from where they will also be started at regular intervals.

The journey will be approximately 100miles and will involve several stops at places of interest as well as stops for refreshments etc and will culminate in a display of all the cars at the finish line in one of the Peak Districts historic locations (it's a secret until you get there) around mid afternoon.

This is not a race and the planned journey time though the Peak District is to be around 4 hours to allow you to enjoy the scenery, stop for lunch or a picnic as well as enjoy your driving experience. There will be an entry fee of £10, which should enable a substantial donation to the chosen local charities to benefit.

Looks like a fabulous line up, bit too close to the Revival for me to come over I think, although it wouldn't be too far from HolyHead.....

I can recommend it, having been to that meeting on several occasions, the last one in my Elan.
A great day trip from Birmingham.
There's always a large number of various Lotus including a high %age of older ones that take advantage of the free entry & Trackside Parking. CLOG are also a good bunch of Guys.
The racing is always great & at the limit.
Not to mention the Paddock which is always crammed with fantastic race Cars.
When I took the Elan I met up with the CLOG guys & drove the last 5/6 Miles together with them.
Convoy it wasn't, wherever possible it was fast & a hoot to do

Do it if you can!
Cheers
John

just a little advance warning

this meeting may be very quiet as the entire gathering of usual suspects are off to Classic Le Mans

so if you see a large convoy of Lotus heading out of Cheshire in a southerly direction on Wednesday 2nd July that will be us

please do not forget there is our annual charity run the Sunday before (ie this weekend) starting at the Dome in Buxton from 9am

Devonshire Dome
Devonshire Road,
Buxton, Derbyshire.
