    • 40th Anniversary Barbecue - Sunday 14th August 2016
Sunday 14th August 2016 from 12:00 pm Hatton Country World, Dark Lane, Hatton, Warwickshire, CV35 8XA We would like to invite and encourage you to join us for our club’s 40th birthday BBQ at Hatton Country World where the club will enjoy a relaxed and pleasant family afternoon and evening with our friends and members. We have arranged for a rolled field where we can park all our Lotus Cars plus other vehicles, including cars, camper vans, caravans and tents all in one area. Overnight camping is available for anyone that wants to stay in Campers, Caravans or tents. (This will cost you £9.50 per unit staying overnight.) Toilet and washroom facilities are available. All attendees will have access to all the Hatton Country World shops, restaurants, pubs, Farm Park, fun fair and toilet facilities at any time during the day. Have a look at their website for more information. LDC will have 4 marquees/gazebos to protect our guests against the relentless beating sunshine, so please note that this event is not weather dependent! There are two options for you to arrange your food but please note that all attendees must prebook with Colin Smith by 31st July 2016. BBQ Food Options 1. Pre-paid tickets at £5 per head for a Beef Steak or Salmon Steak or chicken portion plus a Sausage or Burger with 2 bread rolls, butter, coleslaw, salad, sauces, etc. To book tickets for this, please email Colin Smith ASAP to book numbers and arrange your pre-payment. 2. DIY Option – we will light a couple of BBQ’s and you just bring your own food and cook it free of charge. Alternatively, feel free to bring your own BBQ as well. If you would like to take up this DIY option, please email Colin Smith ASAP so we know numbers and therefore how much drink to buy! Drinks We will provide red and white wine, beer, cider and a variety of soft drinks – all available at vastly subsidised prices, i.e. All Alcoholic drinks £2 each, all soft drinks at 50p each. Teas and coffees will also be available at 50p a cup. To book or for more information, please contact Colin Smith, c.smith@lotusdriversclub.org.uk Tel: 07468 321009

    • Gear selection problem
Glad you are getting somewhere with your problem Mark. i have heard good reports about Silverstone's workshop.
    • Gear selection problem
Update:  I took my car to Lotus Silverstone yesterday and Ben (technician) and Matt (manager) recommend replacing the gearchange and crossgate cables saying they've seen this problem before caused by the cables stretching and distorting over time/usage and the temperatures the Elise generates (mine's 5.5 years old and has done 65k miles). So, going to get that done in August along with the annual service. I did ask them about engine inserts but as they've no experience of fitting them to the 1.6 1ZR engine, and I'm not convinced I would see too much improvement due to relatively limited power output of this engine, I've decided not to opt for this mod (at this stage anyway). I'll update again in due course. Mark Ps. quality service and good tech knowledge again from Silverstone. And some fetching Lotus cars on their forecourt (new V6 Exige...)
