Hi Mike, that is a lovely looking car! We haven't managed to get to one yet. There is one in St Albans I think (the first Wednesday of every month). We are in Herts as well. Near Puckeridge. Oh and welcome! Kevin

  20. My window got stuck about 1/3 of the way up. I’ve got it closed (with thanks to the guys on LEC), but it’s not fixed. The glass is catching on the door, I can’t really see what is wrong but I think one of the runners might be misaligned. We have been very lucky with the weather this year, it had to come to an end sometime!
  21. Hi Kathryn - is your window fixed? what is/was wrong with it? Shame about Sunday but I think you probably made the right choice given the weather 🙂
  22. Saturday 27 April – Saturday 4 May 2019 In May of 2009 club members embarked on a trip to visit the German village of Söhlde to celebrate the grand opening of an English style Art Cafe, named The Barn, by member and proud Lotus Elise S1 owner, Britta Poloczek. The celebration hosted around 300 guests and as well as members cars also included a Lotus Super Seven, Caterham, Morgan Plus 8 and a handful of Minis alongside bikes such as a Triumph, Norton, BSA, Royal Enfield, Harley Davidson and more. In 2019 the club is planning a return visit to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Kunstcafé The Barn. Sailing will be overnight from the port of Harwich on the evening of Saturday 27 April, docking early Sunday morning at the Hook of Holland. A nights accommodation will be planned for Sunday before arriving in Söhlde for 3 nights, where local accommodation has been arranged. Whilst staying in Söhlde there’ll be plenty of opportunity to explore and enjoy the local area such as the medieval town of Goslar situated in the Harz Mountains and not forgetting the anniversary celebration itself on Wednesday 1 May, which is not to be missed! After leaving Söhlde another nights accommodation will be arranged for Thursday before returning to Harwich from the Hook of Holland on an overnight sailing on the evening of Friday 3 May. Our Driving Adventures are not a race, time trial or guided tour. They are a navigational road trip where you will be given a start and finish point for each day, along with a suggested route. You will be expected to find your own way there with your own map, sat nav and/or carrier pigeon. We look forward to sharing this trip with you and hope that you can join us. To find out more or to register your interest in joining this trip please email driving@lotusdriversclub.org.uk. Limited places are available.
  23. Such a shame about the weather. Having spent each hour of daylight after work all week trying to fix my window I fully intended to come. I had the car all ready, my raincoat handy and £3 in my purse. I kept checking the weather forecast, high 90% chance of HEAVY rain all morning and thought driving nearly 100 miles in that wouldn’t be the enjoyable day I’d hoped for.
  24. Not long to go now.....just over 3 weeks and counting..... The biggest and best classic car show of the year.👍 Come and see us in Hall 2 stand 360. We’ve at least 2 new show standard cars, recently purchased by LDC members...🤔 worth the admission fee alone👍
  25. Hey John - thank you so much for your efforts in making this event happen. Even with the weather playing silly bu$$ers we really enjoyed the Arboretum and we will definitely be returning in the summer when the weather will hopefully be better. A lovely and thought provoking venue. Great getting to spend some time talking to the both of you and meeting new members. Well done mate Stu
  26. Thankyou to everyone who attended and supported today, a cracking turn out considering the weather. Even the MG Enthusiast Club made an appearance as well as 8-9 Aston Martins. I really enjoyed the day, the weather improved and we managed to get round some of the grounds/memorials. I hope you found the venue interesting and you left wanting to visit again. Was nice to meet some members of the club and I hope my knowledge of the grounds made the day more interesting.
  27. Big thank you for turning up this morning definitely Wets tyres needed today .
