  4. Oulton Park’s signature event- the Historic Gold Cup returns on August Bank Holiday weekend (26-28 August) and we’d love you to be a part of it. This year’s Gold Cup is set to be bigger and better than ever, with a high-calibre on-track programme, starring cars from the ‘50s through to the ‘90s, and a wide range of suitably-themed off-track attractions. We would like to take this opportunity to invite you to this year’s event, with key benefits including access to special display parking areas, and complimentary weekend admission for each driver. Additional tickets for passengers can be purchased separately, whilst under-13s go free. This year’s Oulton Park Gold Cup in a nutshell: Evocative racing from the Historic Sports Car Club, including Formula 5000 single-seaters, Super Touring Cars, and classic GTs such as the Jaguar E-Type An artisan market with more than 60 stalls Historic military vehicle displays Retro stock car demonstrations Period music, a Concours d’Espirit, and much more! Cheshire’s Oulton Park, located just off the A49 near Tarporley, is recognised as the most picturesque motor racing circuit in the country, and is the perfect place to spend a Bank Holiday weekend with like-minded classic car fanatics! I will need to supply them with attendees’ registration numbers before 4 August. I will then receive vehicle registration specific car passes and one weekend ticket per car for the driver. Cheers Gareth ps please feel free to start a list..........

  11. Cheshire Members

I can assure you there are members and Lotus enthusiasts in the Cheshire region. We have been trying for some time to improve communication and attendance with each regional area but to be honest there are those who are some what reluctant it appears to communicate outside their area. Our Midlands meetings are booming with consistently good attendance thanks to Eddie's immense effort on here and on social media. I can certainly help promote the events and meetings in the Cheshire area using the clubs social media channels, the website and of course this forum. Please feel free to email me at c.jones@lotusdriversclub.org.uk with any updates or requests or simply post them on the forum. Also, you can email chicane@lotusdriversclub.org.uk to publish any information in Chicane.

  21. The HSCC Oulton Park Gold Cup   24th and 25th August 2014   The Oulton Park Gold Cup is the north west's premier historic race meeting, notable for attracting star names such as Sir Stirling Moss in recent years. Featuring a huge entry of rare and exotic historic cars, including single seaters, sports, touring and saloons, each grid is worth a small fortune, although that doesn't stop the drivers from producing superb racing on the classic 2.6 mile Oulton Park circuit!   Off track entertainment including demonstrations on the rally stages, classic car displays, trade stands and fairground rides, all giving the event a true family festival feel.   This year's running features the Super Touring Car Trophy for machines from 1970 to 1999, including the Super Touring Cars that saw the BTCC surge in popularity in the 1990s, with the cars running exactly as they did in period. It made its debut at this event to huge acclaim in 2013.   Everyone who is bringing a car for display will be entitled to a car pass, which will admit the driver free of charge (any additional passengers will need to purchase tickets). Prices are:   £22 per adult on the day (£18 booked in advance)   £15 per senior on the day (senior tickets are not available in advance)   Children 13 and under go free   Booking for these is via www.oultonpark.co.uk or by calling 0870 950 9000.   Camping is available to purchase at £25 per person (£17 in advance) regardless of length of stay.   Gates will open at 7am on each day.   I will need to know your name, forum name, car and reg number...and a contact number too I guess   thanks   Gareth
